Amiri Medical Complex performed Afghanistan's first Percutaneous TAVI procedure!

Afghanistan’s first successful Percutaneous Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI), a non-surgical without anesthesia & cardiopulmonary bypass heart valve replacement procedure was performed at Amiri Medical Complex by intervention cardiology team led by Dr. Razmi Rahman, director Cath-lab with considerate support of Prof. Dr. Ertugrul Okuyan (Turkish renowned intervention cardiologist). This path-breaking and revolutionary procedure performed for a 60 years old man with severe Aortic Stenosis (heavily calcified Bicuspid Aortic Valve) with a low LVEF of 25%.

During the event CMD, Dr. Mirwais Amiri praised his team and Turkish doctors for performing such sophisticated procedure successfully for the first time in the medical history of Afghanistan. Also valued visit of his excellency Dr. Wahid Majrooh the acting minister of MoPH to AMC and commends his appreciation.
