Dr. Mirwais Amiri

Dr. Mirwais Amiri, the Chairman and Managing Director of Amiri Medical Complex is the promoter of “Amiri Medical Complex” which is a continuation of Escort Amiri Diagnostic Heart Center which was established in 2006 with the aim to serve the deprived Afghans in the field of cardiac healthcare.

In 1981, because of the turmoil and devastation witnessed on the soil of Afghanistan with the invasion of the Russians, Dr. Amiri shifted to Pakistan with his family. He started his education from the primary level in Pakistan and in the year 2001 graduated from Baqai Medical University, Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his six months residency in orthopedics at the Post Graduate Medical Institute, Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar. He successfully accomplished his one-year residency in cardiology at the Post Graduate Medical Institute, Hayatabad Medical Complex Peshawar, Pakistan.

Having deep realization and feeling for his deprived Afghans in the country he returned to Afghanistan and in 2004 joined Late Sardar Mohammad Dawood Khan Military Hospital (LSMDKMH) as a Medical Officer in the internal medicine department. From the year 2005 to 2007 he remained at Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre, New Delhi, India, and successfully completed his fellowship in cardiology. In 2007, he rejoined LSMDKMH and started serving the army personnel and their families. In 2008-2009, he was deputed at Kandahar and Helmand military hospital in order to serve the army officers and their families. In the same year (2008), he successfully completed a medical mentorship program at Craig Joint Theater Hospital situated in Bagram. In 2009, Combined Security Transition Command Afghanistan (CSTC-A) and National Military Hospital Kabul selected him as an instructor in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), conducted mutually. In 2010, he was appointed as consultant cardiologist & chief of the cardiology department at LSMDKMH.
